Rich, lucky, socially integrated, or even just acknowledged by society; these adjectives are not related with people suffering from leprosy. The bacterium, which induces this disease, has no mercy on whom is already living in extreme poverty and poor conditions. Millions of people can’t escape the extremely debilitating physical and psychological leprosy condition disease, due to no available resources, inadequate health-care, and the stigma surrounding this condition.
The disease is now curable but it requires an early diagnosis to avoid a rapid spreading, a remarkable health-care system as well as a functioning screening to localise infected people.
With no money leprosy sinks into obscurity but in a latent state.
